This will make you laugh...

Hopelessly naïve as am, I've started tinkering with a little project to try and accurately guide a quadcopter to an accurate landing point. I'm ultimately aiming to use a camera from a Wii-mote and Graham Stabler's object in the Obex but for now am using an off-the-shelf equivalent sensor.

I've been writing up my progress here.

If nothing else, its keeping the little grey cells active as the nights draw in.

The less naïve, the less fun in life. Impressive project, and impressive write-up. Will you use a short range laser time-of-flight sensor (VL6180) for the last few inches of altitude?

I admire the professional way you're going about this, Hugh. A worthy project is a great way to spend time once the days get short. I'll be interested to see the direction it takes, so to speak.
