How do I delete an account?

I accidently created a new account forgetting that I have this old one.

Comments

  • I don't think you can -- especially if you have posts on that account. But just stop using it. No harm, no foul, no big deal.

  • If you really wish your accidental account to be deleted, we can, but an account deletion will also get rid of any posts you created on that account.

It is against policy to actively use multiple accounts, but you're welcome to use whichever account you prefer and ignore the other.

I think a bunch of us have old unused accounts around. After finding ourselves locked out after the last forum change.

I have an old "heater" account for example.

I think that was two upgrades ago, maybe more

"heater" has not been active since 2010. How time flies. :)

    Shucks, seems like yesterday.

Still, at my age everything decades ago was only yesterday. Meanwhile whatever happen yesterday is totally forgotten :)

    Publison,
"The past is not over yet".
    Wow.

That is an off hand remark that a good friend of mine made 25 years ago. At a party when he was a bit tipsy and his little bit younger wife was asking "Why do we have to listen to this 60's music all the time? That is the past"

I met Chip a couple of months back and somewhere in our conversation he reminded me of that phrase as well. I was amazed he had even noticed and remembered it.

Some how it seems to strike a chord with people.

Which is why it was in my sig in the first place I guess.

For me, ...the past is still not over yet.

There is just more of it :)
  • I liked Heater's sig from the start. The past is not over yet in many ways:

    * We are still uncovering the past
    * We are continually reinterpreting the past
    * Some of us are revising the past to suit our agenda
    * Some of us are living in the past
    * Some of us are trying to recreate the past

I've derived satisfaction from each of those, at one time or another.
The only crime would be to forget the past.
We know less about the past than we think we do.
Someday we will know vastly more about the past than we do now.
If I understand cosmology, someday the past may be the present. And the future.
