Sun City Aerial Montage - A New Video

Here is another video I uploaded to YouTube. https://youtube.com/watch?v=TGd6Ngmw0eY
It is a sort of montage of various video clips I've previously uploaded with a few recent scenes. All were shot from my Elev-8 ship equipped with a Tarot two axis gimbal. you can tell from some of the lateral jerkiness that I wish I had a three axis gimbal as the aircraft is trying to hold its course during video shoot.

  • I think your control over the Elev-8 and the smoothness of the videos was exemplary! But, holy smokes, it's really flat there!

Indeed. By the time you've traveled 10 miles from my front door, you've climbed 6700'.

  • Want to trade places? I really miss the mountains!
  • Nice video. I live about 12 miles south of Sun City, but I've never been out there. It looks like a nice place to live.

@Phil, yes the land is flat in this area. It's a little difficult to build a golf course on the side of a mountain. It might surprise you to know that much of the U.S. is flat. The Texas hill country is only a few miles to the west of here with nice rolling hills.
  • @Dave, are you a Elev-8 pilot? I have two, and a Tarot FY680 Pro hex.
  • No I've never flown a quad-copter of any kind. I have thought about getting an Elev-8, but I haven't taken the plunge yet. In the past I've spent my spare time and money on model rockets. However, quad-copters do look like a lot of fun.
  • @Dave, if you're interested, perhaps we can meet sometime and I can show you my two Elev-8's and let you try one of them out. I can put it in Loiter mode and let you get the feel for moving it around without worring about losing control/crashing...
  • That sounds like fun. I'm going to be out of town for a few weeks, but when I get back in October I'll send you a PM with my contact information.
