How is that servo price compared to other good bargains on reliable servos? Particularly standard sized servos.

I did buy 2 Parallax servos for ~74 cents at one of Radio Shack's fire sales. Maybe someone stocked up on a cache like that and is selling for a tidy profit.

Somebody here claimed to find a dusty new Boebot for $5 every time they went to their local Shack. Like a half-dozen or so. The Cask of Amonti-BoeBots.

Parallax servos are re-badged Futabas. Really good stuff.

I've used them in my class. It's very solid and much more reliable than the Chinese "HMC5883L" knockoffs.

That said, it is a magnetic compass module and requires calibration for the best directional accuracy. Moreover, and like any magnetic compass, it can be affected by nearby magnetic fields and ferrous-metal objects. But as magnetic compasses go, you won't find anything better -- and certainly not for the money.
