GeoFencing a car... have you done it? any advice?

In the old days, I could track my car, but I couldn't do anything if the kiddy was not where he or she was supposed to be. The most stressful situation to be in is a bad situation that you can do absolutely nothing about.
Having lived through it once, I am now determined not to live through it again:)
I recently sold my beloved but betroubled Crossfire for a paltry $1500 to a retired super-car mechanic and while discussing life over a glass of ice tea, I ventured the question: "I can monitor my car's location, but I don't have a kill switch for it... any ideas?"
"Simple," he says to me... "cut off the fuel pump at the fuse box, but be sure the car isn't moving when you do it."
The only problem with this is that I would have to either admit the truth to the kiddy or risk having him or her destroy the ignition system trying to get it re-started.
Any ideas?
ps ... leaving town in a few minutes, be back Sunday. Will try to check in along the way.
