MacBook Pro progress report

I'm a first time user of Parallax products. I was able to get my new Boe-Bot USB (28832) going, and working with my MacBook Pro, almost immediately. The robot is usable in either of two ways.
1. Windows 10 Home, running BASIC Stamp Editor v2.5.3 (r2), hosted on Oracle's VM VirtualBox virtual machine.
2. Mac OS X 10.11.6, running MacBS2 3.1.8.
I also tried the Parallax IDE for Chrome, using the latest Chrome on Mac OS X, and got it to launch, but found it much more awkward to use than either of the above alternatives.
