Sierra College (the closest 2 year college near my work) has been directly tied to our local HackerLab and doing a wonderful job with it. I talk with Carol Pepper-Kittredge occasionally and she is the director of the Sierra College Center for Applied Competitive Technologies. She is vital in HackerLab's success and I just happened to see this article about $17 million in State Grants that she will get to help in directing for additional maker spaces. How awesome is that?!?!

ps. A colleague of mine and I were at the Rocklin HackerLab last Friday and I can honestly say that it is very impressive. We were camped on their Universal Laser for about 2 hours, but I wandered around looking at the rest of their tools, etc. Really nice maker space if you are in the area.
