USB and 9 pins SERIAL CONNECTOR

Hi guys. is it possible that bs2 can combine the connection of USB connector and 9 pins SERIAL? we have a device that uses two connections. that is USB for exporting an mp3 files and 9 pins serial for syncing and programming the schedule. by the way our device is called the ANNUNCIATOR. anyway my goal is to use only one connection and that is the USB connector. is there a way that I can do both process in USB cable only? is the bs2 can do it? Thanks!

Probably not, but it depends on the software and hardware in the annunciator. Most likely the serial is only for commands that control the system while the USB is only for audio files.

Even if it was possible the BS2 does not have the memory or processing power to do both, although it might be able to send the serial data for sync and programming.

Hi thanks for the reply. My goal is to change the pic to basic stamp. And we are using "CY T16 V1.1" mp3 module.
