1024K I2C serial eeprom

Hello,

Is it posible to connect the Propeller chip with a 1024K I2C serial EEPROM?

    Which part? You should share the manufacturer and part number your considering to see if anyone has already tried this.

    In general, talking to any I2C device should be possible, but I'm not sure how flexible the prop is regarding what devices it can boot from.

  • There are some parts that work differently but most of them are fine such as the 24LC1025 however it seems that that part requires pin3 to be pulled high whereas it is normally grounded.

    I have however used 24M01 devices which are fine. If you connect multiple devices you can just change the address on pin2&3 of successive devices and in the case of Tachyon it will just look like one big eeprom. Bear in mind that eeproms are slow and if you want a lot of memory in a chip it is best to add a little 8-pin SPI flash memory as they start at megabytes not megabits.
