RTC: any guidance or hints for Spinerette /or for using an external DS1307 with other Prop products?

I am beginning my exploration of the Propeller, coming from a background of industrial automation, not software engineering.
I have a Spinerette, purchased for a one-time specific use.

I have also though an interest in learning to apply an external RTC using the DS1307 for use with the Mini or any other Propeller products.

I am almost totally ignorant of I2C..
Can anyone offer advice, hints or tips, or links to any information that may be useful?

I searched previously, and had missed this.

As a beginner this should be an excellent learning exercise for me.
I do welcome any suggestions or input otherwise though.

I remain clueless about the RTC on the Spinerette.

Hello,

Since the DS1307 is a 5V chip, be sure to power it from 5V, however the SDA/SCL lines should be pulled up to 3.3V via 4.7K resistors.

With the generous help I've received here so far, I feel I'm beginning to get some traction. Wish I had begun learning the Propeller sooner.
