I'd be delighted to put your new Prop Plug to work. Unfortunately it would only see use with Win7 and PropTool as that is the only combination currently used for Propeller development here.
The CH340 is a USB to serial UART adapter like the FT232
Pros.
It's $0.50 or less direct from China.
It's less stressful to the tinfoil hat types.
Cons.
It requires external crystal and ballast caps
It requires external vreg for 3.3v
It requires external static clamping
It requires external LED logic
Not fully compatible with Propeller Tool (PT bug never fixed)
Not available from reputable source like Digikey or Mouser

Why not use a CP210x, or CP2110, or mini module ?
