My friend Wendy (who hung out with Harlan Ellison http://forums.parallax.com/discussion/comment/1357489/#Comment_1357489 ) got a short fiction story published in eBook format at B&N: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-deluxe-package-wendy-all/1123747132?ean=2940158212499 Went to an LA performance bar last night where several fiction short stories from emerging writers were "performed", or read onstage by professional narrators. I sat next to Larry Niven (Ringworld and more). Fun to schmooze with some famous writers. I met Gordon McComb last year, so I'm on a hot streak.
Wendy's story (99-cents) is worth a read (the performance was condensed to 20 minutes), about a woman putting her Jewish mother in a high tech assisted living with a HAL-like AI system. She's been working on it for a few years, and what started as purely science fiction is now pretty plausible.

Some people have make all the luck.
I'm a fan of Larry Niven's stuff. Congratulations.
Of course this kind of pales next to your previous Mr. McComb adventures.
