AC/DC 12V TDA7297 dual 2x15W Digital Audio Amplifier DIY Kit Dual-Channel Module

Not a bad little amp for the money - uses the TDA7297.

You can find them even cheaper, but this seller shipped from Compton, CA

Yeah, audio is dirt cheap these days. I got this mech-less (no CD, just USB & SD) car radio for $14 brand new on sale at Fry's: http://www.frys.com/product/8604810

Nowhere near the 160 watts claimed, but fine for me and my Disney princesses.

Here is a video of this little amp driving some 150W Polk Audio T15 bookshelf 5.25" speakers using my old Zune MP3 player...

I see the copyright emblem (it just indicates blocked in some countries)but it doesn't seem to keep it from playing (even when I'm signed out).

Can you hear the music on the video?

No, it doesn't play at all. Not on my Win10 nextbook anyway.
  • Yep. Blocked in the states. You can't put copyrighted music on YouTube anymore because it is a violation of copyright laws. YouTube employs an automatic content matching system.

I don't really get YouTube's policy enforcement - you can find tons of complete songs and even full albums on the site but a 30 sec clip is a problem?!?!

    Guess I'll delete it!

This is their explanation of "Content ID claims"

  • YouTube's policy about music varies according to who the copyright holder is and what their policy is. YouTube has convinced some artists and labels to be chill about it and they simply serve ads and links to the original owner's content, but others insist on the banhammer and when they do YouTube complies.

When I posted this Christmas video from church, Youtube notified me PDQ that the music was copyrighted, but it wasn't a problem.

  • LOL Erco yeah that's a perfect example of a copyright holder who has reasons other than direct monetary compensation for wanting people to hear their music.
  • Though I've never done it myself, supposedly you can contest this takedown under "fair use" policy and get the video re-instated. It would seem your case falls into this, educational or demonstration purpose.

    Thanks -
I have seen videos that mention "fair use" in the video description but don't know if they were blocked then reinstated or automatically accepted...
  • I don't believe this video would have fallen under Fair Use, even though it is a demonstration, because the demonstration could have been made with non-infringing material. Unlike, for example, a review of a movie where a clip of a scene may be necessary to demonstrate why you formed the opinion you are putting across about it.

I had a pair of narrow rectangular 13W speakers (used in Sony Plasma TVs) that I got from Jameco.

I figured a good cabinet would really make them shine so I bought some 1/2" poplar "hobby" boards from Home Depot and fired up the table saw.

Wasn't going for furniture grade cabinet - just something decent and solid.

Can't believe how good they sound - their freq response is 30 Hz to 20,000 (but it drops off below 100).

These little 15w amps drive them just fine!
