OBEX reCAPTCHA server problem

I'm getting the following message at the top of many pages on obex.parallax.com when I'm logged in. I can use the website, but it's really slow and there's this message.

Unable to connect with the reCAPTCHA server (www.google.com): 0: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known

I'm running 64 bit Gentoo Linux on a Macbook 4,1 (2009?), and am using Firefox 38.0, which is the latest version marked stable in Gentoo's package manager.
