Adding USB to my current OEM

Hello All,

I want to change from the standard serial communication (DB9) to USB on my coming version of my product. Can I just copy/use the Schematic from the BASIC Stamp BOE (USB)? Also, I would like to use the 28 pin SSOP if I can.

Yes, you should be able add the BOE USB circuit your design without issue. As for the package change, that shouldn't present any issues either as the chips are functionally the same.

Thanks for the reply. Will have to upgrade to the DipTrace Lite (500) pin, only 9 pins free before the big 300 limit.

Hah! coincidentally, I am upgrading DipTrace 2.4 Full to the new release, 3.0, as I type this. (I am lucky as I have the full version through work though, couldn't afford it myself otherwise)
