S2's are going to get hard to find. I just got the last one from Pololu:

Ken expects August launch of green

The bottom line is that assuming all goes according to schedule we should have S3s ready to ship from Parallax by August 2016 just in time for the Fall semester! As soon as the delivery date is known we will enable advance ordering.

I haven't been following the green S3 story closely. Can someone tell me what the changes are from the red S2 ?
I remember Ken saying that it had an exposed hacker port. And I think I remember rechargeable batteries ???
Anything else that anyone knows of ?

Wow! That is a complicated schematic.
Looks like lots of goodies in there. I just hope the price is reasonable.

I would have liked more digital I/O pins on the hacker port, but I guess 6 is okay.
I mean, it's a robot, not a development platform.

I just got a like-new blue for $15 on Ebay. And there is no shortage of new S2's on Ebay.

I think a late add for S3 should be a levitating speaker, as long as we have to wait.

My $15 Scribbler arrived in new condition. Box had been opened but clearly the bot was unused. Factory program intact, not a scratch anywhere, including the tailwheel. Seller said used once. Works perfectly. Score! I had plans to cannibalize this one for a project but it's way too mint. Will have to find another.

Yes, the green one sounds quite cool. I'd like to try controlling it wirelessly with an ESP8266-based wi-fi module. I believe it has an Xbee socket.

Yikes!! I remember $99 for serial and $129 for serial with the USB adapter...I must be getting old and having parity problems with my memory.
