Actually, I thought the idea of drawing out the floor plan was quite clever.
But, for that, the robot could certainly be simpler. Think large-scale S2. Simple and durable. After all, have you ever seen what construction crews do to their equipment??? The robot they showed would be constantly broken!
I like how it constantly rolls over the still-wet Magic Marker line it just drew, and yet there's no smearing. Guess they forgot to simulate that part.

This is true, but even then, I have to think this is a robot solution looking for a problem. In commercial construction, much of this is prefab anyway. It's not like they have different door widths, and most walls are made from discrete panels joined together. Regular factory robots can do the prefab work, and turn out the parts much, much faster.
