Cant find propeller mini

Dear forum users
When I want to detect my propeller board in the propeller tool.I get a error that it can not find my propeller on com 6. But after the driver installation I can see an ftdi chip on com6
Has some one had the same issue?

Welcome to the Forums!

The biggest mistake I always make, is the Propeller Chip is not powered up. The FTDI chip is found, but the Prop needs to be powered also.

Ow even a propeller mini?

Yes, you must provide 6.5-12 volts on VIN to power the Mini.

The USB connection is for programming only, and does not supply power.

thaks tomcrawford but ist a bit unclear where i put the resitor in series whit the input ? sow I can use a level convertor for safety?

A 3.9K resistor in series with the Propellor pin will work in most cases.

A translator chip also works, but more money/ real estate.

Now i have an other question.
Is it possible to interface a i2c rtc to the propeller?

If you have the details of the RTC that you want to use, that would help.

In the mean time, go to the upper right of the forum page, and type RTS in the search box. That will bring up a few.

Publison So it is posible to share the i2c whit the EEPROM?
Btw the rtc was a example . i whant to interface a holtex led matrix driver But thanks for the help

It is possible to share the I2C line. Now you have changed the interface chip. You need to provide details on that particular chip. Pullup chips in particular.
