I use these 20-cent DC buzzers in a lot of projects instead of speakers. Cheap, tiny, & loud. Just tried playing a tune through them, interesting effect. Next time you need to fake a DTMF or vintage 56K baud sound, try one. The pure tone is just 4.5VDC applied, followed by 7 tones.

    Very cool idea erco and as always "on the cheap" and simple minimal approach. Never let the budget hold you back!

    Cheap and more importantly, they are tiny, one-pin, no amp req'd, and no resources required (ie, FREQOUT) to play a tone, just toggle a pin.

    Better for the Stamp's 5V crowd than Prop though.
