Is there a formal specification for Propeller assembly?

Is there a formal specification for Propeller assembly (not Spint)?

I found a BNF in the Machine Language Tutorial by deSilva and a Parser [1], none of which seem to be official.
Is there something approved by Parallax?

No. Not in terms of a BNF spec. As far as I know the Propeller manual is as close as you get officially.

Not sure you can say "excluding Spin" exactly as PASM depends on a lot of the expression syntax of Spin for DAT, VAR definitions.

Be sure to get the Propeller Manual v1.2 which is only an on-line download (free) - never been published in book form. It has quite a bit of important revision.
