Blue Scribbler software? — Parallax Forums

Blue Scribbler software?

I have some old scribbler robots. Should the scribbler 2 robot soft ware work with the old blue robots? Im getting an error message that says that there is no communication. Any help would be great...

No. The S2 software is for the Propeller chip, and the S1 software is for the BS2.
Two different Microcontrollers in the two BOTs.

Do you need the old software?
  • I do have a disk with the old software. Will it run on Windows 7 ?

Yes. I have it installed on WIN 7 and WIN8.1

Just make sure you install The USB(FTDI) drivers.
  • The Scribbler 1 (blue) software is also available here:

  • Thanks Jen! Was not easy to find for me. But then I can become distracted. :)

    Like the new Icon.

Jen: I looked briefly but did not see the blue Scribbler factory program. Is it still available? It was not a BASIC program download, but an executable file IIRC.

Warning!! It will not install on 64-Bit machines.

I think it was a BS2 file. See attached.

Thanks Jim, I figured a BS2 file was around. But IIRC, on scribblerrobot.com there was a button you could click to restore a connected Scribbler and you'd never see any code. Magic.
  • You can restore a Scribbler 1 via the original Scribbler Program Maker GUI. With the Scribbler connected, click the icon that shows the robot with a halo over it. That re-installs the factory default software.
