FOR SALE: (2) Parallax Servo Controller – USB (#28823) Rev B — Parallax Forums

FOR SALE: (2) Parallax Servo Controller – USB (#28823) Rev B

{Are we still allowed to do this? If not, please moderate me accordingly}

I have two of these (Product PDF), presumed good, still in their Parallax safety bag. They no longer have a product listing....collectible????

Make me an offer I can't refuse. If it's good enough, they'll ship for free!

They'd prefer to stay together if they can.

Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks!

Rick

Sounds like you're talking about me and my other brother erco.
  • I paid forty each for them two year's ago, makes a great servo powered robot, taking the burden off the main controller.

Old school should have meant a BS1. :)

Now to sell Rick's Controllers. They are perfect with any BS1 or BS2 MCU's. You can off load the servo processes for your Halloween project. It's not too late to get started.

Heck, they work will Propellers also.
  • I use a prop to controll a PSCU through LLC, as my bot is four wheel servo drive, with various othe servo's in use including steering.
  • Forty each? I had no idea! We can do forty for the pair (shop free in the U.S. )

Hey your wives would snap up a 50% off shoe deal without blinking a eye!

Come on guys, who's gonna say "yes" the fastest?!?

2 for 40 and free shipping? Hmm...

I've never played with these. How easily can the firmware be customized? Are there schematics? In particular, is there a way to run these "live" (e.g. via serial) instead of with canned sequences?

  • This isn't the Servo controller with a Propeller on it. I think it has one of the SX chip. I have no experience with it but maybe Publison or MikeDYur can talk to firmware customizing and updating??
  • If it's the propeller version, which is designated PSCU, Propeller Servo Controller USB. Look for the beenie.
  • This product is ttl level serial communication @ 9600 baud.
  • I reiterate, It's 2400 baud. And the firmware is rewritable through USB. There is a lot of free pins to control.
  • If it's not the Propeller version, I'll pass.
  • I have one of those. I got it when I bought a mixed lot of used Parallax stuff. I keep it in the box marked "Too cheap to pass up, but will probably never use". There's no SX and no Propeller. It uses a Cypress CY8C26443 microcontroller and has a FTDI USB chip. I might have a data sheet somewhere.

'Can't customized firmware, but you can control them via serial with the command in the PDF in the first post.

The units for sale are the earlier version, so the firmware can not be updated.

  • Here is the software that's referred to in the product literature.
