try Dale's Homemade Robots.

This rather understated home-brew site is really a wealth of pragmatic information. Dale has long competed in robot battles and dominated due his thoughtful attention to details on every aspect.
Expect to be taken in a few directions that you wouldn't normally consider.
Dale is all about doing something and not about selling you this or that. These days, everyone has a camera, an opinion, and a blog -- but that doesn't really make for superb content.

I'm amazed at how much great information is available.
You might want to check some of the related links in these two threads. (They might be familiar. )

As I mentioned in one of the earlier threads, I wish Gordon McComb's book had been available when I started building robots. It has lots of very practical information.

Let's Make Robots used to have lots of great tutorials but unfortunately the new owners have deleted large amounts of material from the site. Some users requested their material be deleted but I didn't and everything I ever wrote there has been deleted. (And yes, I'm still mad.)
One of the new robotic webpages to rise from the ashes of LMR is CoolKidsRobots.com. They've already got some nice articles up on the site.
I think David Anderson does a great job covering some of the basics about robots and robot navigation.
I still think it's hard to beat Parallax's educational material.
BTW, Thanks for the links Heater. I wasn't aware of all of those channels.
Edit: I recall the days before the internet when information was a lot harder to come by. I would have to spend a lot of time at a library to find little bits of information I was after. This same information can now be found in a few seconds thanks to the internet.
