Sale at the 'Shack

Went by my local 'Shack this morning and found a few items on sale.
Got 5 high speed servos for $7.97 ea, 3 LED Party Packs at $2.97 ea and a Tilt Sensor for $6.74. (All they had of each one!!!)

I don't have plans for the items, but I couldn't pass up the prices. :-)

Amanda - Looking around for the thinking cap.

  • Planning and purchasing are two random events in my world that just happen to follow in some logical sequence in rare instances.

Good finds, I'm sure they will find a project.

Were they the new Parallax continuous rotation servos? I didn't know the new ones when out to RadioShack. May be a part number so we can confirm?

  • I used to buy things from my local Radio shack. Now the closest is 30 miles one way. Digikey and Mouser were the winners in the Radio Shack bankruptcy.

  • @ Publison... Part number looks to be 900-00025.

Many months ago I found 3 std Parallax servos at a Shack fire sale for 97 cents each.

    I miss those days!
  • Yesterday, I noticed the local 'Shack had the 2-axis joysticks on sale for $3.97. Not a great savings, but if you need a few, why not save a few bucks.

Loopy, This thread is not about Radio Shack, but about the deals that can still be found at Radio Shack.

Sorry you do not have one locally.

And this company owes us $75,000. In bankruptcy protection they can sell all of their Parallax inventory for whatever they want instead of returning it to us.

  • I wonder how much they owe Seed Studio. I think I paid $15 for the touchscreen LCD Arduino shield which I used to do the C vs Spin demo, and I still have a GSM shield I got for $10 which I don't even have a SIM card for and don't know if I'll ever bother to use. At least it gave me an excuse to buy a Prop ASC from Parallax...

    Hello!
    I can imagine.
Every time I walk inside one to buy something, the urge is to complain about them avoiding Parallax is great. I don't give in.

Eventually they will realize their mistakes. Soon I hope.

Putting a positive spin on this, hopefully it means that some of that inventory went on sale and ended up in the hands of someone who didn't know much about Parallax before. Maybe you'll get some new fans/customers as a result. Or maybe a teacher (or two) will have scooped up all he/she was able to find and is using that inventory to teach.
