    Yep, if I use https, I can't reach the video.

    If I remove the https, my Iceweasel immediately is asking me if I want to activate my out-of-date Adobe Flash (supposedly not secure).

    When I say 'yes' to all that non-sense, the video is available in Adobe Flash.

    ++++++++++
    Adobe seems to be doing some odd things recently. Since I use Iceweasel in Debian, I get a query for each and every site I visit that asks if i want to activate Adobe Flash. That query process may be in conflict with the https environment.

    I am not sure if the same thing is going on in OSx or Windows. It may be resolved without the user being asked.

    No idea what is going on there but anything we can do avoid the use of Adobe products and conduct our business securely sounds good to me.
  • Doesn't most of the world use Adobe PDF format?

    Yes, the format is very popular but you don't need Adobe software to create or read PDF's. Several free and open source choices available that are better IMHO

    Actually you do need to use Adobe software to open some new fangled Adobe PDFs that the U.S. Treasury Department is using that are supposed to be a secure signed document.

    And, Adobe has dropped support for its document reader, Adobe Reader in Linux.

    The two events seem related. In other words, it appears that Adobe is preferring to shift to only supporting Apple and Microsoft OSes (read more below).

    So far, all IRS income tax forms remain useful in Linux. So it is unclear if this is an emerging trend to 'more secure Adobe applications'.

    I tend to look upon the frequent challenge of Adobe Flash as a kind of adware that reminds you that you are using Adobe Flash each and every time you desire a video. I have updated twice to get rid of the message, but eventually it returns.

    And at this point, I am at an impasse in installing Adobe Flash on my Debian 8.1 jessie 64amd. The past routine installation just doesn't seem to work.

    So I am left wondering if I must accept being shut out of both Adobe Flash and Adobe Reader due to preferring Linux.
  • 'Adobe PDF" and "secure signed document" is an oxymoron if there ever was one.
