37 Sensors/$40

All breadboard friendly, probably great for teaching/learning. Trying to resist. Only 2 left! I would love to have time to just sit down and try out every one of these sensors.

Or now that ultrasonic sensors are 75 CENTS (Jeepers!) you could have 53 of those for your $40: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OE-New-Arduino-Ultrasonic-Module-HC-SR04-Distance-Sensor-Measuring-Transducer-/221850003656

As long as these cheap Chinese sensors won't kill you: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/know-deadly-counterfeits-170000433.html

Nothing jumps out at being a "must have", except for the Magic light cup module. :)

    What could that be?

Magic Light Cup Module - who knew??

  • I find it a little interesting that LEDs, buzzers, and relays are grouped in with sensors.

Sure, you need to balance out having less lead in paint now days!

....maybe it's due to "Urban Contemporary" replacing "Heavy Metal" on the pop charts?

Sorry, is this how off-topic starts??

You DID order a similar sized pile of 1K8 resistors for the one-pin mod, oui?

  • Oh, man! You guys have caves??? Totally cool!!

(If there are tights involved....yeah, don't want that mental picture)

    Don't forget the $1.68 servos: http://www.ebay.com/itm/9g-rc-Servo-mini-micro-for-trex-align-450-Rc-helicopter-Airplane-Foamy-Plane-U/271346088693

I first saw these here in Kaohsiung at an over-the-counter retail electronics vendor many months ago and was attracted to the idea. I certainly wouldn't worry about only two left.

With a bit of research, one thing became very clear --- NO Documentation.

And they might actually be a mix of Sensors, Actuators, and Indicators. (duh.....)

So if you are going to use these, expect each to be a research project.

What we really really need is a writer that desires to publish a complete HOWTO text for all 37 with schematics and code examples for the Propeller, the BasicStamp, and the Arduino (or GCC?).

Gordon McC? Are you interested in an opus? Working Title "Sensors, Actuators, and Indicators for microcontrollers"

That's basically the jist of a series of articIes I just wrote for SERVO magazine. Should start in the Sept issue. All of erco's cheap Chinese electronics documented with code. Not surprisingly, the editors much prefer it when I reference parts sold by their advertisers. A bit of a conflict, but we "mitigate risk" (AKA compromise).

Edit: Speak of the devil, I just got my Sept issue of SERVO in today's mail and part one looks pretty good.

Would you believe $30? Sorry about that, Chief. That's the second-biggest sensor kit I've seen today. Missed it by that much.

    $10 less now.
