Automatic message viewed status?

Maybe it's just me, Win 10, or lousy karma. When I open Parallax forums with any browser I usually will see 10 or more "unread" messages highlighted in a darker blue background. I'll open one of the messages and read the contents and then click the back button to return to the message list. There I find not only the message I just looked at no longer highlighted but several other messages have gone white, without ever opening them. Sometimes it's just one or two but lately larger numbers of them go white. This morning I had 14 unread discussions and after reading just one of them and returning to the list, all but one has gone white. It happens with Firefox, Chrome, and Microsoft Edge.
Anybody else seeing this?

  • Hal,

Sometime I see the opposite. Read a discussion, hit back, and it is still blue. Works sometimes, other times it does not. I don't think I've see any turn white without reading them.
  • Hal, I thought it was just me having senior moments, but I need to take some screenshots and see if I can replicate the problem. It's not just you. :)

  • Sapphire,
Yes I have seen that also but has always been the result of a new post to the thread while reading the thread. Or there may be several pages of unread posts in which case I open each page, then it goes white in the list.

That usually happens when there's a second page available. The unread pages are not really that apparent in this new form software as they were in the old form software.

  • Hal, I had already reported the very same thing, but for me it seemed only that the sticky threads became automatically read. See this thread.

The odd thing was that it was never acknowledged or added to the known issues list (or thread sunk).
