What is the result of waitpne / waitpeq when "write result" is specified?

Writing some driver code, and the manual for waitpeq / waitpne is vague about the output of these instructions when the 'WR' flag (write result) is specified.

Anyone know offhand? I can set up a test case, but it would take some time so I figured I'd ask first.
