Forum Issue: Not able to jump to last page?

Looking at new threads, witch might be long, I am not able to jump to last page?

">>" Button just allows to go to next page. should be just ">" and ">>" Button should be added to jump to last page.

quite confusing as it is now.

Enjoy!

Yes, >> is not usually advance by 1, but they have many other fires to worry about...

In the preview, and (strangely) at the bottom of the first post, or the top of all other pages > 1, the page numbers show as 1,2..N-1,N, and N is always the last page, click on that highest number, and you go to the top of the last page.

I've got into the habit of clicking on the highest page number link of each topic of interest in the forum listing section.

A variation, from the listings title link for "FPGA Forth machines", of what Mike is talking about is: - http://forums.parallax.com/discussion/161686/fpga-forth-machines#latest

That link looks like it should plant one at the newest post of a topic, but it don't. One just ends up at the opening post instead.

    evanh,

But your link to FPGA Forth machines#latest does take me to the last post in that thread. As does the link under the general discussion thread listing.

#latest is meant to take you to the first unread post (your first unread post), but it behaves strangely sometimes. After the migration I clicked 'mark all viewed', but if any of those old threads are updated #latest takes me to the first I didn't actually physically read, not to where it was when I clicked 'mark all viewed'. Worse, if there's an edit (and many/most of those old ones have somehow gotten an automatic edit at 14 Jun or something), #latest takes me to the first post *of the thread* if somebody wrote a new post at page 54 or whatever.

Ah, silly me, I thought "latest" meant, well, latest.

It does all sound a bit odd.
