Perhaps the issue is that Igor made a new post, changed his mind about it, and then discovered it's impossible to delete a post.
So yes, that at least is a forum bug.
Edit: Having said that. I went and checked that thread. The thread was listed as Igor having the last post. But when I clicked on the title it did not take me to the last page where his post is. It took me to the page before where I had the last post. Thus making it look like Igor's post was missing.

Very strange.
If the “Paranoid?” is in reference to me then no, just found it a bit strange and thought it should be checked out. At the time I did end up at the last page. When I did not see Igor's post I backed up to Clock Loop's “really big issue” post. Then I clicked the “next page” arrow to no avail. Clock Loop's “really big issue” post was the last one.
After going back and taking a careful look at the time and date of the posts in the "Low cost wifi module ESP8266" thread I think issue may be caused by all the "sunken" posts dangling off the end of the thread. I did get to the last post in the thread, but because there were several sunken posts there Igor's post was four back from the end.
IMHO sinking posts only adds confusion to the forum. Better to delete them.
Perhaps I should have phrased it differently "Bug? Sunk? Deleted?...Paranoid?"
However, I'm totally with you. There are some strange forum behaviours going on that make me doubt my sanity some times. (Or should I say "More than usually")
On the other hand, I don't think there is such a mechanism as "sinking posts" only "sinking threads". So that can't be it.
Unless people have been voting and that has reordered posts. I did not see any sign of that when I checked.
If I can add wifi and gpio to a device for $5 I'd do 10 CAPTCHAs and fill out a survey for 40 minutes to read the last post on that thread. Is that bad?

In no way was Irgo's post sunk. It it still in the same queue as always.
No moderation was taken on the post. If it was edited by to OP, the time may have changed,

What I am saying is that jn some ways the behavior of this forum is inconsistent and counter intuitive. When I click on a thread to read it I expect to end up on either the first new post, most recent post, or first post in the thread. Preferably the first new one or the most recent post if there are no new posts. I also expect them to be in time/date sequence. Ending up at the end of the list of voted down posts is not what I expected.
So I won't be adding this to the issues list, but to make sure kwinn (and anyone else who might benefit from Publison's reply) sees the information here I will wait until end of business day to sink it.
Under the first post, (where comments start) There is "Votes" and "Date Added".
If you select "Date Added" when you are signed in, it should stick for all threads. At least it works for me since the second day of the new forums.
I thought sort-by-votes silliness had been mercifully finally killed off ?
Or is only the default off, and users can still enable it ( should they feel life is too boring and needs some added randomness ?)

I think I've seen some system confusion around posts at page boundaries.
Sort of along the lines if you reply to a post, your post is always added to that page on re-view, but other posts may flip onto a new page, and when you next enter that thread, your post will now be on the new page.
- ie a fresh thread entry re-sorts, but display-post sometimes bends the rules, with the result that on-page-boundary posts can hop-about a little.

No more conspiracy theories, I hope?

Perhaps that is the case. Where do I go to change that setting?
