PropellerIDE (version 0.30.1) most of the time not able to connect

Is there a workaround so that the connection to the propeller chip is always working?
I find myself unplugging the cord 9 out of 10 times before finally being able to update RAM or EEPROM. Somehow the COM device is just not there. The initial connection is restarting the chip, but not flashing it. Has it to do with the connection speed? I do not see any property setting available in the program to connect at a different speed.
Thanks for the help!

Are you using a Quickstart Rev. A by any chance?
You may want to try the "Magic Resistor" fix.
20 minute later ... Pin 33 (TX) which is P30 has now a 10K pull-up resister. I am using the Quickstart Rev. A, but adding the resister did not fix my problem completely, but I think it is now better.
