Annoying flashing yellow animation on submitting a post.

What's with the annoying flashing and generally ugly and pointless animated yellow background that shows up when one makes a post or an edit?
Can we ditch that?

'Haven't see that. Did it just start?
    -Phil
    Nope, still didn't see it.
Oh, wait. Now I see what you mean. It doesn't last long, but yeah, I don't see the point of it.

I'm still wondering about the value of saving drafts of empty comment boxes.

Now, I have a reason to post so I can see the yellow flash.

    Edit: I didn't see it.

Edit2: I saw it when the edit updated the comment....cool!

    Well,  what the..?
This has been annoying me for days now. I just tried to reproduce it by editing my post and no, no sickening yellow flash.
Now I don't know what triggers it. Grrr...

Ah, there it was again, just when I added the "Grrr..." to that post.

I think I only see it on edits.

Edit: Did not see it on the original post. Now, I'm editing to see if I see it.

Edit2: Yes, I saw it on the edit. Unsure of value. I'm sure there has been some study done on the mental wellness benefits of positive feedback from interactions with social media as a result of updating content in the target demographic for important social media users.

Edit3: Maybe people in a certain (younger) age group don't notice it and it is included in the Vanilla forum to drive older users away.

I have seen this kind of animation before in other sites.
Generally at lot more subtle and less distracting. And certainly not vomit yellow.
A gentle notification that "hey look, something is changing over here on this page" which can be quite nice if your page is receiving updates pushed from the server.
In this case it's totally useless. I just made a post or edit. Of course something changed!

This probably falls WAY down on the list of fixit priorities unless it's a simple two-minute repair. :) It's nearly as elusive as the green flash at sunset over the water.

    Oh yeah. Not so urgent.
Have have you ever seen the hot end of a cigarette glowing green? I does happen from time to time.

    Heater,
I have not seen that with Windows 7 64 bit and Chrome. What is you Browser of choice that you are seeing it in?
EDIT: Editing right now. Don't see it. Maybe when it is autosaving?
    EDIT: No Yellow

I have Chrome on a 64 bit Debian Jessie.
Auto save does not seem to do it. Posting an edit to a post does.
Perhaps this old AMD x86-64 box (2Ghz, 5985 bogomips) is slow enough to show up the issue.

    Posting Test.
No yellow. Maybe when the draft is saved?  No Yellow when draft is saved.
I can't recreate it here. Sorry..

It for sure happens when saving an edit to a post.

There's a yellow legal pad stuck in the forum!

    Testing..

    Edit 1
Edit 2, yes, Edit 1 produced a yellow flash. But it doesn't affect my sanity. I'm used to the yellow because when I'm on Android (when I'm home) I have to do all posting and editing in raw mode (did that ever make it to the 'issues' list?) and raw mode is yellow to start with.

    Tor,
Ha, ha! I have no idea why this edit box has anything else but raw mode. It's almost completely non-functional and certainly very confusing to do any formatting with it in WYSIWYG mode. Bit Like MS Word :)
