Forum Issue: missing post titles

yes I know - many have not bothered to use post titles in the good old forum.

but where it was used it was a great help for searching and browsing ...

e.g. the VERY LONG Tachyon thread without meaningful post titles is very hard to follow.

    Personally I would prefer that people start a new thread rather than changing the discussion in an existing thread.

    I actually prefer Vanilla's way with titles over the way vBulletin did it. (Yes, you read that correctly. :) ) If a person wants to title a post, (s)he can always do it
    This Way.

    well - ok - this is fine IF there are thread groups or sub-forums to group related discussions together.

    Dave's observation reflects Parallax's internal policy (which is also stated on our forum guidelines) of one topic per thread. In this version of the forums, we are not planning to include a means to title comments made within a thread. If you have a new or divergent topic to introduce please start a new thread.

    Although some forum users are not advocates for their use, tags can be used to link related threads together in the absence of forum groups or additional sub-forums.


    This forum issue was an intentional design, so it will not be added to the issues list.
    This thread will now be sunk.
