Forum issue: View Unread Posts feature missing

No high-activity forum can be without a function to see only unread posts. That's how I read every forum I participate in, including the previous Parallax forum (vB). This has been reported before but has not made it to the announced list of issues worked on.

    "Recent Discussions" already exists as an option to see all recent discussion activity. Anything under the announcements are sorted by timestamp.

    If any optimization will be made to this feature, they will be addressed when Bump starts considering theme revisions. Theme is on the issue list as a 'lump' topic.

    When I visit, all my unread posts are in a slight blue background after hitting "Discussion"

    Sigh. Are you guys really unable to see the difference? I can't read this forum (or any other) continuously, at all times. Sometimes there's a long weekend, not to mention holidays. This forum is traditionally so active that it takes only a couple of days actually: New posts are spread out over many pages. To catch up you start reading some threads, then continue the next day. And so on. Soon you'll have page after page with some read threads, some unread threads. Sometimes I keep interesting threads on the backburner for a week or more before I come to them. Without a View Unread Posts function I have no idea about how many pages I must wade through before I can be sure there are no unread ones I would be interested in (at which point I would click Mark all viewed). Because 'Recent discussions' always show 3048 (and counting) pages!
    Whereas View Unread Posts would show the actual number of pages of threads with unread posts. Say, two. Or 4. Or 10. That's how 'New Posts' worked in the old forum. Every decent forum has this function!

    If you can't add it, at least let Recent Discussions sort threads with unread posts first, followed by read threads sorted in the normal date order.

    I'll add a note into the internal tracking to see if sorting Recent Discussions by unread/read is something we can support.
