Forum Issue: Bring back BBCodes

There was a time when I thought allowing raw HTML would be cool. My experience with this forum has significantly tempered that enthusiasm. Bump, can you enable BBCodes here and disable HTML, please? I miss the simplicity of

. Even worse, Heater has identified significant security issues surrounding hidden DIV blocks, which the forum allows.

Looks like a) Yes, there is a BBC plugin for Vanilla
but sadly
b) It is broken in the same way, with bogus chars and smileys appearing inside [code]....

So, maybe do not jump yet.

I like the sound of markdown, as it supports a language tag in the code-blocks, and syntax highlighting.

BBCode support is being investigated; Markdown support is not currently being investigated.

The lack of BBCode support has been added to the list of issues.
