Forum Issue: Sizing Issues

I've seen this issue mentioned a lot but I don't think there has been a thread started reporting this issue.
This is what the forum looks like maximized on my desktop PC.

As others have pointed out there's a lot of empty space in the browser window.
I'm not sure if this is related to what Gordon calls "breakpoints" or not. I haven't seen a "breakpoints" issue thread but I'll leave that to someone who knows more about the subject to report. I'm just reporting my desire to fill the width of the browser window (or close to it) with content.

Oh, it's much worse than that. Images too large for the narrow space will scroll off the edge of the screen, as this image demonstrates:

Without all the wasted space, this image would have fit handily on the screen.

Had the same issue. Pressing <Ctrl +> a couple of times fixed mine.

Of course I have a wide screen laptop so that may make a difference. Here is what it looks like on it.

There is so much wasted space here.
And then why make the avatars so small they are almost useless.
On the font page a huge amount of space is taken up by counts  of views and posts, in large bold font, while the actual useful information, the post title, Is squeezed to a narrow column.

I guess it's for those people who are really into statistics.
  • These days it is called "responsive design", meaning that the web page layout will adjust to the size of the screen of the device used to view said web page (forum or otherwise). So, can we please have a theme / skin or whatever vanilla forums call it with responsive design? Thank you.
  • Thank you,

I have added this to the issue list.
  • Courtney,
I didn't see this on the issue list and this has been a major issue since day 1.
