Seems there is no way to create a link to a particular form post if you want to refer to it from else where.

Yep. In case anyone missed it the little display of the posts date and time under the posters name is a link to the post.

I'm sure you just went past the end of your allocated memory space, and pointed to another discussion. Next time, do some bounds checking before you go pointing at other people's discussions.
