New Forum Issue: I like it!

I'm stunned and amazed this new forum software works as well as it does. Two stars just for the novelty factor (ie. fresh and unique appearance). Two more stars for Parallax rolling their own. There may be details to be worked out, but what a joy it is for Parallax to be in control of their own fate!
BTW, thanks to Parallax for the ski goggled avatar. 42 years on K2 skis! (Full disclosure: I take them off to go to bed.)

What an excellent troll. First chuckle I have had all day. Well done.
Heater: I'm not trolling. Honestly, I really like the new look. No doubt minor details will be worked out over time.

It's growing on me as well. Improvements and problem fixes seem to be coming along quickly too.
One thing I would like to see is separate scrolling for the left column. Possibly even reducing the heading width so that column can start at the top.
As far as I can tell if you have never uploaded an avatar image then you get a gravatar image made for you. Like that grinning idiot image attached to my posts. With the attendant security concern that that may be giving away your email address like so:
In2013, folks reversed the MD5 hashes of email addresses in a data dump to recover 45% of email addresses at a large forum, by exploiting this weakness in Gravatar (the ability to reverse MD5 hashes of email addresses). This is more evidence that email addresses can be recovered despite the use of the hash.

On the other hand if you had set an avatar in the old forum it might have been imported here. Or it might not, for some unfathomable reason, which is why I have the grinning idiot. Some might see that as appropriate for me but I find it insulting.
There are many issues here that may actually be minor to fix, but it's shocking that such gross misbehaviour as has been pointed out by dozens of threads already managed to get out the door without any apparent review or testing first.
I'm amazed you actually like this mishmash of poor style and layout.
