Well, the S2 probably had a Fluke program in it, so I loaded Whit's Fibonacci, and it went to town! Not sure about on noto. It sounds a little slow. I'll do a straight line test tommorow after I come home from the autocross races.
Sadley, the bot had intermittent power up problems . After I spent two day charging 6 Ni-Zn batteries, ( the two chargers I have will only take two batts at a time). the S2 will not power up at all.
Time to deal with ebay return policy.
I would like to keep the Fluke as I have downloaded all the software and manuals.
I'll just have to break down and get a brand new S2 since they are going away soon. (only 1000 left in stock).
Good on ya, Jim! Glad to hear that your "new-ish" S2 is up & triangulating without EBay's intervention.
It's noteworthy that even a seasoned pro like you can get sidetracked by (likely) bad batteries. No one likes to hear (or admit) that their weak batteries are the most likely culprit. Given the ridiculous price of alkaline batteries (60-100 cents each!), I can't blame anyone for trying "pre-owned" cells first.

Gee I wonder who got it.....
Or izzit nunna my BIDness?
Or izzit a Fluke?
A.) That would be me.
B.) Buds share info here.
C.) Always wanted a Fluke, and I got another S2 to play with and implement Whit's chalk modification.
Was also packed with Alkaline batteries. Good news is that it powered up with the supplied batteries.
Don't know if it totally survived. Will test tonight. Have to wait to check the Fuke Board on Monday.
IIRC someone (?) stepped on theirs somewhat recently, cracking it and it still mostly worked.

S2 lives! Not sure if it was combination of bad batteries or what, but I was able to run the spiral triangle program with excellent precision!
Do not run a Sharpie on on a Dry Erase Board. Doh! What was i thinking? Acetone to the rescue.
Now to download all the Fluke stuff.

Is yours a Fluke or Fluke 2? I think my Fluke is an original... Anybody running that on an S2, wonder?
It looks like a Fluke2, (going by the pictures in this manual).

It say "Rev 8" on the board.
I'm beginning to suspect it's a cheap knockoff.
