Disney Research is working on robots that look like their famous characters, and would roam through their theme parks. We're sure that's a great plan that definitely won't terrify any children, guys. Totally. Fool. Proof.

    "Draw."

So, as a failsafe the trick will be for Disneyland to add a lot of open flame lighting, so the robots can get confused as to what's fire, and what's human.

Yum, flames. Just what Erco ordered!

(The video you posted was paired with a Bill Boggs interview, shot around the time he was doing his last tour of King and I on Broadway. At one point, Boggs says, "You're looking good," which he does, but unsaid is that by that time Brynner knew he was dying of lung cancer. I'm guessing the interviewer was aware of it, too -- he might have publicly disclosed the disease by then. Earlier we saw him in San Diego doing King and I on the tour. Very, very memorable.)

Well, that robotic Yule Brynner is going to give me nightmares for months to come.

Haven't been to Disneyland since about 10 years old and I was too short for some of the rides, about 57 years ago. Am I missing something?

Mickey's getting a little long in the tooth.

Then you missed the incessant "It's a small world after all" music, the Sherman Brothers' greatest triumph over the feeble human brain. You haven't had to suffer through months of the song rattling your mind after taking your kids to D-land.

And they added and took out others you missed, like Monsanto's Adventure Thru Inner Space, and my all-time favorite, Carousel of Progress, narrated by Jean ("you'll shoot your eye out, kid!") Shepherd. Judging how long ago you were, things like the Monorail, Bobsled ride, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln came after.

So, no, you haven't missed anything.

Oh, and one thing they did take out was the Welch's concession stand off Main Street (on the way to the Frontierland connector). We used to go to Disneyland just for the grape juice bars.

Hey, you should try working in one of those rides and hearing it all day!!!!! Lucky I'm in Test Track most of the time and only have to listen to rumbling all day long.

All day you hear either tracks rumbling or people grumbling (prices, lines, grape juice, etc), take your pick! :)
