Assuming there's anyone besides me who still uses IR remotes. The world has gone mad for Bluetooth...

This is a nice universal remote control for sending Sony TV codes to your IR-controlled project. Most other universal remotes are multi-device and have many useless DVD/SAT/VCR keys, some which accidentally and annoyingly shift the remote to DVD mode so you can't understand why the remote "doesn't work anymore". This is a TV-only unit, and 37 of its 39 buttons send unique Sony codes, some which I've never seen from other remotes. A big step up from the cheesy dollar store remotes which I can't find anymore anyway. I'll buy a dozen more for robotics class.

Nice find, Erco. I have a pile of teeny remotes from work where we have been using mini (car) headrest monitors as NTSC and VGA Propeller displays, and they all come with little remotes we never use for picking among multiple monitor inputs and setting up modes we don't use. I use one of them to control my Nixie alarm clock.

yet I only seem to get remote button = -1

jonnymac did a sony IR remote, I believe you will find it in OBEX.Jim

Set the remote code to 049 first, that's the Sony tv protocol.

There we go. I had to hold the set button a lot longer than I previously thought.
