EDU Circuit Overlay

I just bought a few of the new Parallax EDU Circuit Overlay boards (https://www.parallax.com/product/32999) and they are quite nice. I had been using an Activity Board to test code that runs on the Propeller Memory Card and had it wired up to the breadboard on that board. Yes, I know I could have plugged it directly into the P0-P15 header but I didn't want to have to add code to set the power pins appropriately to power the board. Anyway, my breadboard circuit worked fine and I decided to move it to one of my new EDU Circuit Overlay boards. Everything went pretty well except for one minor point. I moved the wires I had used on the breadboard over to the EDU module but when I soldered them in the insulation on the wires melted and shrunk a bit exposing some bare wire. Now this didn't really matter because none of the wires were close enough to touch each other but it isn't as nice looking as I had hoped. Are there wires that have insulation that melts at a higher temperature that would be better to use with the EDU modules than the wire that is typically used for breadboards? I know about Teflon wire but was hoping to use something that was a little easier to work with. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
David
