Replies are a great measure of a post that grabs people's interest - but so is the number of views.

Anybody got any idea what thread has been viewed the most? I know this is a moving target, but the most viewed I've found is this

http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php/155132-The-New-16-Cog-512KB-64-analog-I-O-Propeller-Chip

People may be tired of waiting, but they SURE ARE INTERESTED!

Nah, I just remember the comparison having come up recently and rechecked to see if it was still true. Given its obvious popularity, it kinda makes me wonder if Parallax should embrace Forth with more official enthusiasm.

Actually the most viewed thread is http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php/125543-Propeller-II-update-BLOG with over 680,000 views. All of the P2 threads together probably total over one million views. If you look at the average number of views per month, the P2 threads are around 16,000 views/month. The Tachyon thread is around 6,500 views/month.

....and as with most threads, maybe 50% of the content is actually related to the original topic! I went back a bit in this thread, and the things discussed cover:
    6502's
    68000's
    Leon wonderful 68000 book
    Raspberry Pis
    Listening to computers for debugging
    Propeller Pi Hats
    Naming the latest P2
    Propellers with ARM cores
Missing features, desired features, required features, features that if not include will cause the IMMEDIATE DEMISE of Parallax
    Official updates
    unofficial updates
    requests for updates
theorizing about the reasons there haven't been updates
    FPGAs
    P1Vs on FPGAs
Hashing and rehashing of what's been hashed before
    Innovation
    big companies and little companies
    XMOS
    the weather in New England
Most of the holidays that have occurred in the past year
    PC versus Personal Computer
    changes to Spin
    future of the P1

It's like a micro-controller Burlesque show, who wouldn't put their eye up to the hole in the fence for a peek!

Also, I believe the view counts may be inflated by the spider programs that scan the forum e.g. Baidu Spider

Well, if you actually combined totals for all the Radio Shack threads, that too might be a contender.

Personally, I am more than willing to accept that Propeller 2 is the most visited -- some of the others are on my unmentionalble hate list (okay I slipped and mentioned Radio Shack, but that is all I will mention -- just because I do try to not bore everyone to tears.)

As far as Tackyon is concerned, Peter J. has fudged a bit from the very start and insisted that he would only respond directly to the Tackyon software in that one thread. It is absurdly long - impossible to read from beginning to end. I do have reservations with the worthyness of any excessively long thread having meaningful content.

Aside from the meaningful content of a thread -- YES, INDEED -- SOME Subject lines do attract far more views than other. So we might have to limit ourselves to that being the driving parameter.

IMPORTANT TIP for quality control --- If a thread annoys you deeply, it may be best to not post anything. Some of these longest threads are all about tit for tat exchanges of the easily annoyed. (And yes, I should be considered one of those, but one that is at least trying to self-moderate our of respect for the readership.)

Why 'the weather in England"? OMG.
