For those retro-nuts out there like me looking to transfer software from their Mac to an Apple IIe, I just confirmed the Parallax USB to Serial (https://www.parallax.com/product/28030) works great with ADTPro!
I have bought a few of these USB to Serial adapters on eBay. Even the ones with the FTDI chip in them. Total Smile.
The Parallax one (with a 9pin to 24pin adapter) worked like a champ.
Nothing really special about it. But, at $15 it's not a bad price at all.
Yeah Parallax! :-D

Often it's not just the USB controller chip, but the implementation and driver circuit. Not to mention that some older systems require all the pins to be active on the DB-9 end, while some cheaper adapters only handle RX/TX and maybe RTS/CTS. I used several systems in the early 90s that required every line on the DB-9 including the RI (ring indicator). Difficult to find that line supported anymore.
