Edit: 10.10 - Yosemite is the upgrade version. Somehow I totally got the name mixed up. Hilarious, and thanks to the user who PM'ed me.
Wow.
Very nice upgrade experience! My machine was held back on some @$)(%U#$%@#$ software I was supporting. That has now been updated, meaning I can take this Mac current.
The only thing I found that didn't work was my copy of VMWare Fusion. Didn't expect that one to work anyway. Looks like I'll need to spring for an upgrade in the near future, but the new Propeller IDE really makes me think I won't need it now. That was running an XP virtual machine with Prop Tool and some friends on it.
Apple rocked this one pretty hard.
Just FYI, they do pull the old Xcode, which I found interesting. No biggie to snag it, which I just did.
There are a ton of nice things... lots of review sites for that. I'll just mention a couple right out of the gate:
1. This Mac is fast, and on a couple of things, faster now.
2. OS X memory footprint went up, but it's a bit smarter about it's scheduler and swap management. It's a wash, but I want more RAM.
3. It has an energy use profiler! Spiffy!
It's my plan to move to all UNIX for most things. This Mac was the first, and my Raspi is coming up this week!
Propeller IDE loaded, and only required I authorize it, which is a basic security precaution in this OS version. Looks great, and I can't wait to do some Propping with it.
