The Stamp was superseded quite a while ago by the Arduino that appeared at the right time with all the right attributes(low cost, hacker friendly, open source, easy to use) and hence became popular all over the world.

The Prop just never caught on.

But that's how technology rolls. Sometimes you win, sometimes you roll snake eyes and you can never rest for very long or someone else will eat your lunch. The computer field is littered with corpses of companies that stumbled, refused to take advantage of new ideas or ignored changes in the field and found themselves closing the doors of their businesses.

I agree Loopy. If we really need a specific day lets make it March 29th. It's also my birthday so there is even a chance that I will remember it.

I'm looking forward to celebrating Prop 2 day. I wonder when that will be.

Ah yes, that would be Chipmas.

I'm not really into this rash of days, Pi Day, Arduino Day, bla bla.

But if it gets people thinking about mathematics and micro-controllers/electronic respectively then I guess it's all for the good.

Raspberry Pi day can only be once every four years, they launched the thing on a leap day:)

    Excellent point!

P2 will fit in that time schedule.

The next leap day is less than a year away. That would be a fine day to start shipping the P2. First FPGA image in June, final FPGA image and P2 get-together in the Fall, and first silicon on February 29, 2016. Sorry, I fell asleep and was dreaming for a while. Back to reality.

    When's Propeller Day?

    When's Stamp Day?

I don't know about the rest of y'all, but around these parts everyday is propeller day, and 3D printer day. Of course, its also bath day and forth day, I expect other folks may have stranger customs.

Bath and Forth Day. Braino, I think you win the prize on strange customs. :) BTW, were you ever able to revive that dead lead-acid battery. Whatever happened to that?

    Loopy,

Finally, I find out where one of my favourite bands got it's name from

    Thank you.

It is embarassing to see how muddle minded the 1960s and 70s were.... trying so very hard to get to a higher spiritual plane.

There was certainly a bit of a party going on in the 60's. After the horrors of the second world war and the austerity of the 50's perhaps we can't blame them for wanting to get to a better state of being.

I'm not sure they had a monopoly on muddle mindedness. It seems to still be with us in spades even if it's focus has changed. Looking at history it seems to have always been with us.

It was good to wake up this morning knowing "Arduino Day" was over! Now we can all go back to our regularly scheduled Propeller projects. :D

Darned homophones! It is even worse when it is a bunch of homonyms and homophones mixed together.

I guess I was just thinking of 'The Jefferson Airplane' and the Fillmore Auditorium.

We could have celebrated Arduino day by hacking with our prop ASC boards. Or perhaps burning an Arduino:)

    mindrobots,

No, I didn't. Despite having a toy box full of dev boards of all kinds I have never had an Arduino.

I guess I could have torched those ATMEGAs that are rattling around at the bottom of the box somewhere.

Oops, tomorrow (3/14) is Pi Day... Here are their "insanely innovative" projects: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2895874/10-insanely-innovative-incredibly-cool-raspberry-pi-projects.html

Is there also a Raspberry Tau and R-Tau-day (6/28) with equally staunch advocates? http://www.techhive.com/article/231356/tau_day.html

EDIT: 3/14 is also International Drone Day, it's all so confusing: http://www.dronethusiast.com/international-drone-day/

So March has RasPi Day, Drone Day, and Arduino Day. Who made March the king of Tech?

BTW, National Robotics Week is April 4-12 and for once does not bracket Income Tax Day 4/15 so maybe it won't get lost in the shuffle as much this year. http://nationalroboticsweek.org/

The main problem with propeller day is that the date is not fixed yet.

I propose the day the P2 hits the Parallax store.

    Enjoy!

Might have to give that as a Star Date. :-)

Is there a RasPi-powered drone yet? You know, Pi-in-the-Sky? Pa dum-pum...! Thanks, I'll be here all week, tip your waitresses.

Took my twins to the park last night where the LA Robotics club had their night fly meetup. 3 quads flying, some illuminated hoops to fly through. Of course the girls preferred the swings and sliding boards at the park. Something for everyone!

Sounds like fun!! I'm sure the girls will come around soon.

Let's see, how big is LA? Only 3 quads? By the numbers, I wonder if that makes me the Medina Ohio Robotics Club? Awesome!! I need to have an "event" :D
