Most smt switches are kind of made to have external plastic pushing on it and not directly with your finger.
As we DIY don't mass produce, having plastic plunges made is out the question.
These new Panasonic Tactile Switches seems to fix that, as it's nearly all-button

P.S I would oversize the pads so you don't rip the switch of the board if you push at a angle.
