A 3D-printer builds cracker-like structures made with seeds, spores, and yeast. In three to four days, when the seeds and spores have fully sprouted, it’s snack time.

"Edible Growth is exploring how 3D-printing could transform the food industry," Rutzerveld explains in the above video, shot by digital design magazine Dezeen. ”A lot of people think industrialized production methods are unnatural or unhealthy… I want to show that it doesn’t have to be the case.”

It's a little early for April Fools. I watched the video and it looked like an SNL skit to me. A grass and fungus cracker. I think I can wait 10 years til they perfect it.

Here now is more food news, our top story tonight: Some genious has compiled "clever fast food hacks" such as ordering two Arby’s Junior Roast Beef Sandwiches instead of one regular one. Since when is eating fast food clever? Since when does buying food qualify as hacking? The dumbing down of America (OK, Yahoo) is complete.
