Hearing with your Tongue

Innovative thinking here (hear). I've used my tongue to test 9V batteries, but this Colorado professor/engineer truly takes it to the next level. He wants to put a whole array of mini electrodes on your tongue, then teach you to read sounds as impulses on your tongue, almost like braille. An alternative to cochlear implants.

Of course, it's hard to have a 2-way conversation with all that hardware in your mouth. I'm sure V2.2 will address those issues.

Reaction time and stimulus discrimination issues abound. But maybe for the impaired there might be a way. I did not look but that does give me an idea. Send me a private message let's talk.
