If the questioners themselves can't tell what language they are working in. Which I'm sure is true sometimes, how many Arduino users know they are using C++?. Then clearly all the languages should be in a single Propeller forum.
It's not that the questioners don't know, Heater, it's that they don't specify, and that will continue to be the case; it's just human nature. Before, when there was a separate sub-forum for C, that was a non-issue.
If there's concern that Spin/PASM and C be on equal footing, why not create both as sub-forums under the P1 forum? Then the parent forum could be reserved for non-language-specific topics, such as hardware interfacing.
To be honest it doesn't matter to me whether the threads are mixed or not. I'm happy to help people with questions about Spin or C, and I might learn something in the meantime.

Perhaps a different thread image for different languages might help. A giant letter C for a C related post and a beanie for SPIN related posts. And of course there is always 4TH

I LOVE this idea! What I like most about it is the ease with which it will spread. Very quickly other users will notice the icons and find the icons for themselves when they create new posts. Once the icons are common-place, even new users will immediately see them and intuitively know to place the correct icon on their new thread.

I want all the things I might be interested in in one place. Saves a lot of fishing around sub-forums of sub-forums.
You want things you are not interested in somewhere else. Saves a lot of "clutter" for you.
